The application process has been opened for scholarships for students and PhD candidates as part of inter-university cooperation with partner universities in Germany and Switzerland for the academic year 2025/2026.

Expected available placements:

(not intended for the Faculties of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy)

Universität Hamburg

• 3 semester scholarships for bachelor, master or doctoral students
• 1000 EUR per month
• (only for winter semester 2025/2026)

Universität des Saarlandes

• 2 semester scholarships for bachelor and master students
• 934 EUR per month
• (only for summer semester 2024/2025)

• 1 semester scholarship for doctoral students
• 1200 EUR per month (only for summer semester 2025/2026 - max. 3 months)

Universität Heidelberg

• 2 semester scholarships for bachelor, master or doctoral students
• 700 EUR per month
• (for winter or summer semester 2025/2026 - 5 months including the intensive German course before the beginning of the semester)

Universität Basel

• 2 semester scholarships for bachelor, master or doctoral students
• 1500 CHF per month
• (1 scholarship for winter semester 2025/2026; 1 scholarship for summer semester)

Required documents (bachelor and master students):

• CV in German or in English
• Covering letter in German or in English
• Study plan
• Recommendation letter by a CU faculty member (German or English) (only by the University of Hamburg 2 recommendation letters)
• Confirmation of German or English language proficiency - level B2 (Language exam certificate or confirmation from the language department)
• Confirmed transcript of study results for the entire studies at the university, average of study results

Required documents (doctoral students) - semester stay

• CV in German or in English
• Completed Academic visitor application
• Covering letter in German or in English
• Summary of the dissertation topic in German or in English
• Recommendation letter by a CU faculty member (German or English) (only by the University of Hamburg 2 recommendation letters)
• Confirmation of admission to doctoral studies
• Confirmed transcript of study results from previous studies, average of study results
• Confirmation of German or English language proficiency - level B2 (Language exam certificate or confirmation from the language department)
• Preliminary promise of admission by a teacher from a partner university

Students still have the possibility to select one university as an alternative to the university of their first choice.

Students have to upload all documents to the UK Web Application by 25th April 2025.

The deadline for applications to the selection procedure at the Rectorate is the 5th May 2025.
